Abid Usmangani Shaikh, born in 1977 in Ahmednagar, Maharashtra, is a contemporary Indian artist known for his introspective and intuitive visual language. He earned his B.F.A. in Painting from the Sir J.J. School of Art, Mumbai, in 2002. His practice explores themes of identity, unity, and human resilience through a contemplative and concept-driven approach. Abid has held notable solo exhibitions at Jehangir Art Gallery, Museum Art Gallery, BCA Art Gallery, and Sumukha Art Galleries, including series such as Astitva, Local Spine, Soft Land, Equals, and Unity. He has received several prestigious awards, and his works are part of significant collections in India and abroad.
