K. M. Adimoolam, an Indian abstract artist from Tiruchirapalli, Tamil Nadu, is renowned for his black and white portraits of Mahatma Gandhi spanning 60 years. Associated with the Modern Tamil Writer’s Group, he produced illustrations and book covers. Adimoolam received prestigious awards from Lalit Kala Akademi, Chitrakala Parishat, Bombay Art Society, Hyderabad Art Society, and Academy of Fine Arts. He served as a jury member for the National Exhibition of Art and Bombay Art Society’s Annual All India Art Exhibition. Adimoolam’s vibrant art reflects his profound connection to nature, employing innovative techniques and exploring hues. Sadly, he passed away in Chennai, leaving behind a rich artistic legacy.
