Rita Jhunjhunwala (b. 1977)
Rita Jhunjhunwala is an acclaimed Indian artist known for her expressive style and
international presence. A graduate of Calcutta University, she trained under
masters like Indra Dugar and Bimal Dasgupta. Her prolific career spans over four
decades, with solo exhibitions in Paris, London, New York, and major Indian cities,
including Jehangir Art Gallery and Bikaner House. She has participated in
prestigious group shows such as Salon des Indépendants (Paris) and Art Expo
New York. Honored with the Soviet Land Nehru Award and others in France,
Italy, and India, one of her paintings is installed in Rashtrapati Bhawan. Rita’s work
reflects a refined balance of emotion, tradition, and contemporary aesthetics.
The artist lives and works in New Delhi, India.
