He graduated from the Government College of Art & Crafts, Calcutta, earning a First-Class First Diploma in Painting in 1980 with a specialization in Life-Nature and Murals. Renowned for his strong draughtsmanship and robust figurative detail, his practice spans realism and expressive intensity. He is best known for the Rhythmic Harmony series, featuring dynamic depictions of dancers in oil and acrylic. His works have been widely exhibited and are held in major institutional and private collections in India and abroad.
