Suhas Roy (b. 1936, India – d. 2016) was a distinguished Indian artist celebrated for his ethereal and romanticized depictions of the female form. He graduated from the Indian College of Arts and Draftsmanship, Kolkata, in 1958, and later pursued advanced studies in graphic art and murals in Paris through a French government exchange program. Working primarily in drawing and painting, his practice centered on the female face and figure, rendered in a dreamlike space between sensuality and innocence. His works, inspired by everyday life and poetic fantasy, were widely exhibited and remain significant within Indian modern art.
The artist lived and worked in Santiniketan, India.
