Rita Jhunjhunwala (b. 1977)
Rita Jhunjhunwala is an acclaimed Indian artist celebrated for her expressive style and global presence. A graduate of Calcutta University, she trained under Indra Dugar and Bimal Dasgupta. With a career spanning over four decades, she has held solo exhibitions in Paris, London, New York, and major Indian cities, and participated in renowned group shows such as Salon des Indépendants in Paris and Art Expo New York. Recipient of the Soviet Land Nehru Award and several honors in France, Italy, and India, her works—including one installed at Rashtrapati Bhawan—reflect a balance of emotion, tradition, and contemporary aesthetics.
The artist lives and works in New Delhi, India.
