Shaurya Kumar is a Delhi-born artist and educator whose work explores cultural heritage, memory, and material loss. Trained in printmaking and painting, he holds an MFA from the University of Tennessee. Kumar has contributed to landmark projects such as Handmade in India and digital restorations of Ajanta’s 6th-century murals. His multimedia works have been exhibited internationally—from Seoul to New York—and featured in major art fairs including India Art Fair and Abu Dhabi Art. Currently, he is a Professor and Chair of Faculty at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where he also leads Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives in Academic Affairs.The artist lives and works in Chicago, U.S.A.
